Poor Topaz was brought in from a shelter undersocialized, but through great effort
from our volunteers has made great progress in building trust. She is still shy and
needs someone calm and patient to follow the lead of. Once she has warmed up to you
she is a bundle of energy and would play all day if you had the time! Your time is
very precious to her and she knows how to make you feel missed if she thinks you left
her for too long. She becomes especially attached to people who patiently put in the
time to bond with her, underneath her shyness is an exuberant and loving dog. Topaz
needs someone who can give her a sense of stability and structure because she will
miss you even if she has canine companions. She has done well with every dog she's
met and would benefit from being in a multi dog home as seeing another dog trust you
would help break the ice, and bonds easier with women than she does with men. A six
foot tall fence to keep her playfulness contained all to yourself is also ideal, a
privacy fence even better.
