Hello my friends, my name is Duncan. I am a little older yes, but a gentleman for those that I love. I am a stocky big hunk of a boy! I was rescued from a shelter that was crowded, scary, and very noisy when I was only 1 year old. It was not my cup of tea, but thankfully some nice people came and got me and YIPEE I was out.

I have been here at the rescue for a long time. Therefore my social abilities are not the best and I take time to warm up to new people. I need more help to learn to trust and still carry the baggage of my past. I haven’t been perfect and have been unkind with my reactive bite history. I find myself being overly protective of my people and food. I have grown with the help of this rescue and can finally look forward with happiness to find a new home.

I would do best with an adult single person who is knowledgeable about how to help me continue to grow in myself and with them. All I ask for is love, trust, time and patience.  I get along with other dogs and maybe even cats.  At my age, why would I want to chase those little creatures.  I still have it in me, since I run and husky play but I am a touch overweight and get tired running to much. I am hoping to find a person that will see the beauty in a fella like me and make me part of theirs. Would you open your home to me and be my forever family?

This dog requires an adopter to come out to the rescue three times in order to build up trust and form a bond with this dog before going home. Please talk to your adoption coordinator regarding the behaviors we have been working with this particular dog and the training techniques we have seen improvement with. We will also need the name and number of the trainer you plan on using before they will go home.
