Koda is a little shy at first but does warm up to strangers quickly, especially if they have treats. His owner was an older man who moved out of his home and abandoned Koda for two weeks before he was found. Please come see Koda and find out for yourself what a great dog he is. Koda also likes to dog sled as well and is a former member of the Free Spirit Dog Sled demo team.

FREE SPIRIT CHILI LUNCH AND SLED DEMO

Witness live mushing demonstrations while enjoying some terrific chili and hot dogs and you can even try your dog on one of our sled demo teams (see one of our mushers at the event).

Also this year we will be auctioning off rides with Free Spirit’s Sled Demo Team beginning at 11am. Rides begin at 12pm.

We will also have several vendors, rescued huskies, information on adoptions, volunteering, and how to help the rescue.

Pre-registration isn't required to attend the event but we do ask for it if you plan on attending so we have enough chili and food for everyone.

HICKORY KNOLLS DISCOVERY DAY
February 12 at 12:00 PM

FEBRUARY 12, 2012, 12:00PM TO 4:00PM, AT HICKORY KNOLLS DISCOVERY CENTER, 3795 CAMPTON HILLS ROAD, ST. CHARLES, ILLINOIS

Experience live sled demos every hour and meet some wonderful and adoptable dogs. We will also have presentations along with other groups in the Discovery Center ongoing throughout the event. Admission is free.

FREE SPIRIT AT POLAR ADVENTURE DAYS
February 18 at 12:00 PM

12pm to 4pm, Northerly Island, Chicago, IL

Check out this wonderful event where Free Spirit's Sled Demo Team will be doing dog sled demos every hour and you can meet and greet these wonderful dogs. We will have a booth in the Visitor's Center along with other wildlife and outdoor organization and vendors. Event is free but there is a small charge for parking.

STARVED ROCK LODGE HUSKY SEMINAR AND SLED DEMO
February 19 at 9:30 AM

Starved Rock Lodge Husky Seminar and Sled Demo, Sunday, January 16, 9:30am to 4:00pm, Starved Rock Lodge, Starved Rock State Park, Utica, IL. Come on out and learn about the Siberian Husky and the history of dog mushing while enjoying exciting sled demos. Sled demo times are 9:30am, 12pm, and 3pm. Seminar times are 10:30am and 1:30pm. Admission is free.

Seminars will be in the Utica Room in the Lodge.

Demos will be out behind the Visitors Center.
