Miles

Upon meeting Miles for the first time, we knew he'd be a great addition to our family and he is! During the first few days we really concentrated on getting to know him and we found him to be such a sweetie pie. He and our other dog, Chena, won't even go outside without the other one. No matter which one is let out, they sit and wait for the other to come too. They play very nicely together and expend a great deal of energy every day running around the back yard and just horsing around in the house. Miles has found a quiet sleeping place right next to my side of the bed and on the floor. Chena has always laid on top of the bed or in front on the floor.

With two male huskies in the house many people were concerned about them getting along together. No worries mate! They get along famously! Just like old buds! We began basic obedience training immediately and Miles is really learning quickly. He will lay down and stay upon command. When we call 'the boys' in from the backyard, they both run in happily together. Miles is learning how to fetch a ball and bring it back. Since Chena is an old pro at this, Miles is learning quickly and without fuss over whose ball it is. Our home is much more complete now that Miles has joined us.

We already got a couple of cases of his wet food and a large bag of dry food from Happy Hounds in Yorkville, a supplier of the Canadae food he was given at Free Spirit, and he is eagerly eating twice a day. The vet suggested a fish oil supplement to help oil his coat, so we got a special kind in a pump which is added to his food daily. Since you can count each of his ribs right now, we know that with good food and plenty of exercise he'll be happy and healthy!

We are currently waiting for a call back from the local dog trainer who is going to come out to our home to work on any "issues" with Miles. Since neither Miles nor Chena have any bad habits, we are just going to go over the basics and see what he feels we could be doing differently.

We've had a lot of experience with dogs all our lives, especially Huskies, so we're quite familiar with the breeds needs, abilities and temperments. Miles and Chena make quite a pair and are really enjoyable pets to have! We're very blessed to have them!
