October 6, 2007, at approximate age 12, Mariah crossed the Rainbow Bridge to be reunited with her long time friend and kennel mate, Sedonna. Her passing was sudden due to complications associated with cancer. Over the past year, though the time was much too brief for me, these two graced my life and my "husky family" with their companionship and never ending "antics" only a true husky lover could fully appreciate. We will always remember Sedonna and her sister enjoying home cooked meals of their favorite chicken and rice. Then Mariah got the best of an ice cream cone while she saved the filled cone for her sister. Both of them running the farm and snatching a neighbor's chicken or unsuspecting rabbit; nestling in their quilts for the night in my home--still dreaming of the day's activities. And oh, the special holiday festivities! We spent only one Christmas together--oh the presents and the feast! The best was that we were all there together, my huskies from Katrina and Mariah and Sedona, who I loving called "the Grandma's". God Bless Mariah especially for her never ending joy for life. Her blue eyes twinkling with mischief, always her tail wagging, always happy to take that truck ride. Most of all, her always helping me to manage my youngsters when they needed a reprimand, and keeping vigil over my "older girls" Sedonna and then Heidi, in their time of need. |
