Meet our Thor. A handsome young husky mix who is ready to please. This beautiful blue
eyed boy is ready to go, wherever that might be. Whether that be a walk or on a ride,
he's sure to be by your side.
If you have the time to ease into Thor's heart, he will be willing to melt into
your lap. Thor can get wound up easily so, his perfect person would be one to give
him some patience and a bit of confidence boosting along the way. He is very treat
motivated, and walks wonderful on the leash. Some fine tuning may be involved but
nothing some chicken and consistency can't help.
Thor came in heartworm positive but has since recovered tremendously and is ready
to get out in the world and explore!
He comes with a few quirks, aside from a bit of anxiety. Thor can be collar sensitive
and, when in a heightened state, we have found he does vest he to go slow. Thor will
tolerate a solid brushing but hates the dog dryer. Vacuums have also proven to be
the enemy.
Thor can be dog selective but has shown to be a good companion during our volunteer
group walks.
Thor has done very well with his volunteer buddies who he has learned to trust, so
we have much confidence his person would also do the same. Perhaps you have the patience
and consistency for this boy!
This dog requires an adopter to come out to the rescue three times in order to build up trust and form a bond with this dog before going home. Please talk to your adoption coordinator regarding the behaviors we have been working with this particular dog and the training techniques we have seen improvement with. We will also need the name and number of the trainer you plan on using before they will go home.
